The increasing complexity of computer networks and the rapid growth of cyber threats have made cybersecurity an important part of modern network management. Network administration and security used to be regarded as distinct fields in the past, and this usually resulted in a later detection of threats and increased vulnerabilities of systems. The research will examine the manner in which cybersecurity controls can be incorporated in the day-to-day network administration practices in order to enhance the security of computer information systems. Regular network operations include important controls like traffic monitoring, access control, intrusion detection and anomaly detection. The dataset used in the study is the NF-UNSW-NB15-V2 dataset, which consists of the network traffic data with normal and malicious activities. The data set will contain, IP addresses, ports, protocols, number of packets and data volumes. By examining the data and exploring features, the study reveals trends connected with security threats and how they can be used to provide early warning of a threat. As can be seen in the results, the introduction of cybersecurity into network management enhances visibility, facilitates the detection of abnormal behavior faster and the overall security of the system. This will be a viable solution to enhance the protection of a network and minimize the risk.
